Matthew Pizzo

Matthew Pizzo is a drummer and educator in the greater Sacramento area with extensive experience in teaching as well as performing. He has taught at multiple schools including drumline programs at high schools such as Woodcreek High. Most weekends you can find him playing local venues with various bands and artists, as playing live music is one of his major passions. Matthew is well studied in the styles of Jazz, Rock, Funk, and Metal, but is an avid listener and lover of all kinds of music, from Folk and Classical to Math Rock and Experimental music. Getting his foundation from both Jazz band and Drumline experiences, he values musicianship and technical proficiency greatly, and likes to approach playing and teaching the drumset both artistically and mechanically. Matthew is interested in providing his students the ability to express themselves behind the drums as well as equip them with knowledge of both the history and the great players of this instrument, so that they may form their own lasting relationship with music and drumming.
