Ethan Roberts
Schedule: Tue | Thu | Sat
Ethan has been playing the piano for over 15 years, first studying classical music under Robert Brinzer and later teaching himself to play jazz. In that time, he has lent his skills to a variety of groups including The Auburn Winds Big Band, several Sac State Jazz groups, a latin jazz quintet, trios and even a psychedelic blues-rock group, Xylocopa. While he plays mostly jazz music, his teachings focus on active musical listening, proper technique, and lyrical tone, making him a great choice for students learning any style.
As an educator, Ethan understands that learning a new skill like the piano can be challenging but by offering positive reinforcement, collaborating with students to set clear goals, and encouraging growth mindset thinking, he can help people of all skill levels become confident pianists.
